  Venetian glass had been being the pride of the Italian traditional applied art for 700 years.The pieces of art, crafted of the Italian glass by our professionals, have been highly valued and appreciated all over the world. The customers of our gallery are being assisted by the salespersons, who could be named as the experts of the Venetian glass and who are fluent in English, Japanese, and other languages. All the hand-crafted items made of the Venetian glass are labeled with the "VR" sign, which is the proof of the highest quality. A wide variety of numerous items of the applied art, crafted in the modern as well as in the antique stiles (such as engravings on glass, various mosaics interior decorations and statues in miniature,candeliers,jewelry,etc.) is exposed in thegallery. | The origin of glass - making Glass-making has an antique origin, dating back to 4000 years B.C. The Phoenicians were the first to obtain glass by melting a mixture of silica and soda. The Egyptians improved the glass making techniques by molding glass colored forms with a blow pipe. During the Roman Empire the glass-art achieved a great level of perfection producing works of art which we still admire today. |

During those time Aquileia was the center of glass-making. However, the
Aquileian glass masters were forced to move south along the coast line
of the Adriatic due to the invasion of barbarians. A numerous glass factories
were created during their escape, until they finally arrived to the island
of Murano. Today Murano is the most important center for the production
of artistic glass. Glasses are offered in the wide range of colors, some
claims approx 30,000 differnt colors. The well known Venezian red uses
gold, silver, and zinc to create its distinctive color but its composition
has been kept confidential for many years. |
| We demonstrate the skillful hands of our glass masters and provide guidance
for the making of Venezian glass still using antique techniques. → right/ making of a red goblet known as "summertime". Since appearing on the movie "summertime" and captured eyes of Jane Hudson(Katharine Hepburn), lovely, ruby glass became world famous. |
